running out of title ideas

Hi friends..

Here I am...a slacker yet again.. I need to figure out a simple way to make video-blogs or "vlogs"
I often think of things I want to write about and then I just don't!

Life seems to be running out of control and not in a bad way just so busy I feel like I can't see straight! My job is going well and only about a month till I get my office! Some days it wears me down that I don't have a permanent space to call mine. I'm working out of a Tupperware bin and that is not necessarily the best way for me to work. In fact, I KNOW it's not! I need order!

Still trying to get my apartment in some sort of order and I'm hoping having an extra day off tomorrow I can get some of that done! I also need to have an ironing spree.. I don't mind ironing I'm just not particularly any good at it so it's kind of annoying.

This weekend has been great.. I went out last night with my friend Spye.. we went to Boston Pizza for supper and tried to get me a date with the waiter but to no avail.. sigh..That's o.k. it made for many giggles so it worked out well!

We also saw the movie "what happens in Vegas" It was funny.. It wasn't too silly so I enjoyed it..A few "sketch" terms but overall a good laugh!

Tonight I went out with some ladies from my bible study.. We had Vietnamese for dinner! It was so yummy! I'm even more excited excited that our final Bible Study night we are going back there for dinner! Mom-I'll take you some time!

What else to tell you? Many of you know that I am completing my DSW for work and I was working on 2 courses last semester! I found out officially last week that I PASSED them both so I only have 1 more to do! Very exciting! I HATE school and I have tried many times to do these courses and part way through I lose interest and I waste my money. This time tho'... I pressed on and succeeded! It's a good feeling!
I'll probably take the final course in September. It will be an "in-class" course as I know I do much better having to face a teacher every week rather than doing it all online!

funny story..

I went to walmart after dinner tonight and bought a few things. One of them being a bra..a frilly purple bra-rather than a black or beige boring looking one-this one stood out!
sorry guys... anyway.. I paid and was walking out the door and my fear came true.. the alarm went off so I had to go and give my bags to the old guy manning the door! He rummaged through my bag then took out the bra and tried scanning it over and over and over the scanner in hopes that it wouldn't set off the alarm. It takes a lot for me to be mortified but in that moment I wanted to melt. I didn't let on but I definitely wanted to return the bra right then and there. You see even before I bought it I chose the line that didn't have the teenage boy in it.. More for his sake not mine... so then when this happened I couldn't help but feel God smiling down as he laughed to himself at me! Funny funny!

Sometimes I surprise myself.. I buy feminine hygiene products without blinking but this particular bra sent me into a tizzy!

Well I'm not sure what else to report. LOST is so awesome and I'm so thrilled there are still episodes left. Desperate Housewives is on tonight. It's a 2-hour finale and Grey's in on for 2 hours this Thursday!

That's something I have noticed actually that prime time shows rarely do the 2-hour finale anymore so I'm pretty pumped about this year!

O.k. my life is a little drab at the moment and I should consider calling it a night!

It's about time...

Hey folks.. Thought it was time for another update!

I'll go back all the way to last week. It started out rough I have to say..
Mar move out which was a whole other drama.. (it was planned.. I didn't kick her out) then I went to mom's to house/cat sit for mom while she was away on a Breast Cancer thingy in Vermont, then I came back to O-town to work..

Here I am on my way to work on Tuesday morning when I am stopped at a red light...minding my own business, looking forward to getting into the day ahead-when all of a sudden I hear what I thought was the sound of a bird crapping on my car. I turn my head to the right and see the guck dripping down the passenger door of my car... (i have to interject and say it was an earlier day than normal and I was pooped) I stared trying to figure out what I was looking at. I then say out loud to myself.. (again it was early) "That isn't bird poop!" Suddenly I hear giggling and I look up. A city bus full of high school kids are all laughing and pointing at me. I then hear the sound 2 more times. Inside I am fuming. I slowly turn my head to look away from the bus and act as though it doesn't bother me. Thankfully I was wearing my sunglasses. Really folks? What was I going to do? Roll down my window and give them a piece of my mind? Not so much.. they would just spit again. Who am I gonna call the police? The City Bus company? What are they gonna do? I felt sick to my stomach.. I got to work and it was all I could think about. The end of my long day couldn't have been over soon enough..I raced to the car wash to erase the evidence!

The rest of the week was pretty chill.. Sunday of course was Mother's Day and mom and Rej came to the city for lunch and then I drove everyone by the Tulip Festival. We were gonna park and walk over to it but apparently we weren't the only ones with that idea and I think we got better pictures from driving by than having to fight with the crowds in person!

I was a lovely day!
I had today off and I have been able to catch up on laundry and sleep! I'm feeling a little overwhelmed about heading into the week. I'm actually feeling a little overwhelmed that Stage 1 of my new job has only a month and a half left and it seems as tho' time is FLYING by!

hey friends who still read this

I'm not sure who is still reading this.. I actually started fresh on a new blog site but now I am wondering if I should come back here... sigh.. adding pictures is so much easier here..
until I figure it out maybe I will write at both places..

The new job is going well.. I'm really liking it so far.. very different and i sure miss many aspects of the old job... especially all the shopping I got to do! lol

This past weekend was super busy.. on Saturday Mar and Amelia and I all went to a garage sale a lansdowne park here in ottawa... it was pretty fun.. mar and amelia scored big.. i'm sworn to secracy (sp?) for what amelia bought.. well until June at least.. i will say that her purchase is sitting in my living room!

Mar is moving out next week and it's time for us both...I'm looking forward to finally getting organized in this joint.. It's not my favorite place to live but i know i pay decent rent and the downsides i can handle i think...I really want to buy a house too but they are so expensive so i suppose i will stay put for now and put up with the fact i live in a dreary basement with very little sunlight and ice cld temperatures.. oh ya and a landlord who is PSYCHO!

Saw the ladies tonight.. went shopping with Spye afterwards.. very fun.. it's our new thing.. We go to Walmart late cause they are open till 11pm.. YIPEE.. you can always find something you need at walmart.. i bought a rice cooker tonight.. last week i bought an iron.. oh my I am growing up..

I really want to buy this pink cowboy hat.. and i seriously think i will next payday!

I suppose I will call it a night for now..

I have my Sign exam tomorrow night after work. I had my Psych one on Monday.. I'm almost done!! YIPEE!

NEW POST NEW POST

hey all..

here I am again... about a month and a half since my last post!! Sheesh! I really just need to take the time to write!! I enjoy it.. I swear I do.. I just need to do it!!!

The last while not much is different.. work is work and home is home...


I have one funny (for some of you) type story.. It certainly wasn't funny at the time..

Here she goes...



A few weeks ago mom and Rejean were staying at a bed and breakfast in nearby Merrickville. Marilyn and I decided to meet them and go out for dinner! So we arrived to this beautiful B&B, were given the grand tour by the owner.. We talked to her about how she designed it, past guests good and bad, etc...



We go upstairs and see the beautiful room. Mom sits on the bed and kinda bounces around and comments about how bouncy it is..I decide to jump myself on the bed ot prove it. Well the moment I hit the bed-the bed hit the floor! Yup.. I broke the bed!!!! I have to say that that week prior I had alreayd not been feeling well and even took a "sick day" Probably my second one in 4 yrs! I had even considered bailing on the whole night out!


Anyway.. yup.. I think I am now banned from all B&B's in the Greater Ottawa Area!


So on to even better topics!!



Tonight my sweet lil sis has moved into Residence at Ottawa U!


Yes! Little Amelia is now a University Student! I decided to pop over for a visit as I knew Dad had left and her ma wasn't going to be in the city today. We had a lovely time and she even let me take some pics of her new digs! I'm posting them so our curious family can take a look!


We had a nice time.. I got to meet 2 of her 3 roommates.. She is living in the heart of downtown and with time it will feel like her new home...


She is a great hostess.. she amused me well... We had Subway for supper and I am determined to take her to Walmart later this week to help fill the open space on her walls!


She officially starts school Thursday so if you are reading this you cna pray her transition to University continues to go smoothly!

Hey my peeps.

Here I am again.. Well I have a day off tomorrow! I'm stoked! Planning on chillin' with my sis during the day and going for coffee with a friend at night!

This week has been pretty good so far. I went out for breakfast with my friend and co-worker yesterday morning before work! It was great to catch up! We're the only two girls left at work so we need to stick together!

Today I work up feeling sick, in pain and grumpy.. I felt better but towards the end of my shift I got grumpy again! Seems ot be the way things are going.. not fun being me! I even hate admitting that it's yet another day that things just don't feel right.
As I write I'm definately out of sorts and probably shoudn't write but I need to do something! :)

So ya.. let's see what else to tell you.. not much really.. I lead a drab life at the moment..
After seeing so many wedding pics of friends and friends having babies I gotta say I yearn for it more than ever.

I know it will happen in God' perfect timing but it makes me sad some days.. you know?

hey all.. well it was MAy 23rd my last post.. I have probably lost all of your interest but I thought I would update anyway!

Things in O-town are going all right.. It's been a rough go lately..

Lets see what is new...

Living with Marilyn has been going well. Her cat still makes me nutty but I suppose it's part of the charm! ha! Mar and I are different but I work and she has a life so it works! :)

Mom is doing well! She bought house and she is oh so excited! She takes possession at the end of the month! I will be going to see it when I go visit her at the end of the month so I will let you know what I think!

Work is going all right.. probably the source of most of my craziness! We are going through some major changes staff wise and it's proving to be stressful and challenging! I'm feeling really unsettled and feel in need of a change! Love the home I work at so I don't know if that is necessarily the change I'm looking for but at this point something's gotta give!

Personally I suppose I am doing all right too.. I feel like I am actually losing my mind which isn;t the most fun feeling ever! I suppose a trip to see a Dr. might be in order. grrr.. nothing I hate more!

Anyhoo.. lets see.. what have I been up to? Well the highlight was that I went on a whirlwind trip to Peterborough. I left Ottawa at 6am and returned the same day at 1am (well I guess that is techinally the next day!) I arrived in Ptbo around 9am and had a lovely visit with Julie and Madeline.. well moreso Julie.. Madeline didn't have much interest in me! (check out Julie's blog on the side) Wonderfult to catch up face to face! After that I headed over to my old CH home that I used to work at! So fun to see all the individuals and catch up with them and some of the staff! After that I drove over to my friend Bonna's house and got to have an afternoon visit with her! So fun catching up with her! 2 of her sons are getting married this summer so she is busy busy! I love Bonna for many reasons but one is that we haven't talked that much since I moved but walking into her house felt like I had never moved! We picked up wher we left off! We got to have lunch together and just chat! I left Bonna's and headed over to visit Hilary and her brand new baby, Rachel May! I even got to hold her and she was just beautiful! Our visit was quick as I was next going to have another short visit with my good friend Paul. He is one of Bonna's sons who is getting married this summer! He is another one I could just pick up where we left off! We headed to Starbucks and schmoozed for a bit. I dropped him off and went out to Lakefield! Trina and Ray who had moved to Windsor were in town which was the reason for the timing of my quickie trip! Their son Joshua is now a little boy and was mr.cranky pants.. too bad... I was hoping to have him realize how cool auntie lizzie was! I hung out there got to visit with Ray's sister and brother in law and his parents and nan! I had a wonderful supper too! The Jones' are so good to me! They always just "take me in" I hung out for a bit after supper but it was almost 10pm and I was getting sleepy! I left and had to drive most of the way in thick fog.. boo for that!

Tho' the trip was not nearly long enough I'm glad I did it. I hope to be back again in the next few months so I'll keep you posted!

How are all of you? Fill me in? I feel like I have no idea what anyone is doing.. All I do is work and sleep and the sleep aspect is so scattered as it is!! Talk to me people!!!

Well I'm avoiding sleep so I should go...

It seems to be the pattern.. is it a fear that if I don't sleep then tomorrow won't come.. maybe subconciously but reality is... tomorrow generally does come! :)

GO SENS GO!!

hey friends.. well I'm not sure who reads this anymore but I was finally taking a minute to catch up on other people's blogs and felt myself admiring Pilgrim's Scribblings Blog.. HE writes DAILY sometimes more than that!!! Oh if I only had that kind of discipline.. kinda goes along with house cleaning at the moment...ok not that bad..

(I realized the last time I wrote was March 19th!)


Ok so a few things have happened!


here we go...


So I finally got my car... a few days after my last post.. earlier than expected! I love it but it's basically the same as my cherished echo it does have AC so that is quite thrilling.. I think my fave part not only that it's black but the automatic windows..kinda fun!


What else? Well I have moved.. I found a cute 2 bedroom for about a hundred bucks more than my teeny tiny 1 bedroom.. TONS more room-or so I thought.. shortly after I agreed on the place my sis and I decided she would move in with me. She has now quit her job and is in the process of moving her junk.. er I mean stuff up here! She wants to be an Ottawa girl! Should be some fun times over here!! Oh ya she's also bringing her cat.. anyone who knows me well knows that tho' I may think I want a pet.. I don't really!


Her cat, Phoebe, has been here since Friday without Marilyn and her(the cat) and I are definately not seeing eye to eye. Every morning she has wakened me with a headbutt at aorund 4-5am! I was on 7-3 over the weekend and so being hit in the head that early certainly did not help my day shift mood... The last 2 mornings she has also been AWFUL! Yesterday she kept me awake from 4am-6am!! I almost freaked out.. Well I did! I phoned marilyn at 10 to 6am and gave her answering machine an earful... not only was she headbutting but she wouldn't stay in bed with me.. instead she ran around crying.. an awful cry like she was in heat.. she isn't but she may as well have been!! ARGH!!!

Phoebe is lucky she got to live to see today!!


So back to me..


The move went well..I hired movers.. smartest money I ever spent.. Well after they showed up 5hrs late! GRRR It's always something!!!



I'm still trying to unpack.. I HATE unpacking.. I never know where to put stuff and make the place look homey!! Oh well the sooner Marilyn gets here the quicker I will get my butt in gear!



Work is going well.. There are about to be a ton of changes at work and it's proving to be slightly stressful hopefully God will bring the right people to the home to support our guys better than ever! :) That is my prayer anyway!

Oh.. on another note I am taking part in the Relay for Life on June 8th! I'm so excited!

Mom is doing well.. She's tired a lot but in good spirits and making to work as much as she can. My stepdad has started dialysis and taking each day as it comes. It's definately been a whole life adjustment but I'm trusting he will get the hang of it and it will become his new "norm"



I'm doing well.. tired a lot but good...feeling blessed and that's what counts! :)



On a final note.. in reference to my title!! I'm soooo excited about the SENS! I've never been much of a hockey fan but now how could I not be since the SENS are kicking butt! I watched all playoff games in this last series.. alone at my house.. crazy I know.. I just couldn't turn off the tv!



I find it amusing how I never really cared about hockey... as soon as I moved to Ottawa I felt like a celebrity having worked with Mike Fisher's sister and his uncle! I never knew who he was the whole time.. I'll never forget the day.. shortly before I moved that my friend Brodie came to me and said... you know who Meredith's brother is, right? I'm like ya some hockey player.. she's visited him in europe.. that's all I knew(I actually thought he was some young punk who payed for a local team).. Brodie freaked out and began telling me all the stats on him and how great he was, blah blah blah.. Little did I know that information would help once I moved to the big city!



Anyway.. I'm on the band wagon and I'm ready for the weekend!!! GO SENS GO!!!
